Today's life is very much busy every person is busy in earning money, respect, lots of bank balance but one thing which is missing or a person is lacking behind is peace of mind and soul. No one has time to think about the morals, emotions and to think about peace for their own mind and soul. In this running life of ours one thing which can give us peace of Mind and soul is music. It's a way through which a person can sit and relax for a while. One of the forms of music is Gazal we all know and it's the choice of people who want to be still in life for sometimes and relax.



There are many kind of music you would have heard but in my opinion today's music has been changed a slow soothing tracks has been taken away by irritating loud music. Which is having no sense at all but among this music a unique style of presenting yourself that is gazal is still alive and lots of people love to listen gazals. Today's music is like a thunder. Now days there are a variety of music’s in market but after sometimes every one forget it. But on the other hand Gazals are like rose fragrances all new arrivals came and mix in your soul.

What is GAZAL?
Ghazal is a collection of Sher's which follow the rules of 'Matla', 'Maqta', 'Beher', 'Kaafiyaa' and 'Radif'. So we can say a Ghazal is a collection of Sher's in which there is at least one 'Matla', one 'Maqta' and all the Sher's are of same 'Beher' and have the same 'Kaafiyaa' and 'Radif'. So to know what Ghazal is its necessary to know the meaning of above mentioned terms.

What is a Sher?
In very simple words Sher is a short poem of two to four lines. This definition is deceptively simple. A sher is always have a special meaning or massage in it. It doesn't need any thing around it. Through one sher you can explain your feeling in some lines.

What is 'Beher'?
'Beher' is the 'meter' of the Sher's. It can be considered as the length of the Sher. Both the lines in the Sher *MUST* be of same 'Beher'. And all the Sher's in one Ghazal *MUST* be of the same 'Beher'. There are 19 kinds of 'Beher'. But in simple terms, 'Beher' is categorized in 3 classes. Short, medium, long.

What is 'Radif'?
In a Ghazal, second line of all the Sher's *MUST* ends with the *SAME* word or words as in first line. Repeating common words is the called 'Radif' of the Ghazal.

What is 'Kaafiyaa'?
'Kaafiyaa' is the rhyming pattern which all the words before 'Radif'*MUST* have follows.

What is 'Matla'?
The first Sher in the Ghazal must have 'Radif' in its all lines. This Sher is called Matla' of the Ghazal and the Ghazal is usually known after its 'Matla'. There can be more than one 'Matla' in a Ghazal.

What is 'Maqta'?
A Shayar usually has an alias that is 'Takhallus'. For Example: Mirza Asadullakhan used 'Ghalib' as his 'takhallus' and is known by that. Other examples are 'Daag' Dehlvi, 'Mir' Taqi Mir, Said 'Rahi', Ahmed 'Faraz' etc. There is a Sher in a Ghazal, the last one, which has the Shayar's 'takhallus' in it.
